Fiber Arts Friday - At the year's end

Welcome to Fiber Arts Friday!  This is the last FAF for 2012.  Eep!  It's hard to believe that the year has flown past us already.  Did you meet your Fiber Arts goals?  Is there still a pile of unfinished WIPs.  What skills did you gain?  How much did your stash grow/shrink?  Ah, the grand questions of Fiber Arts.

This last week, I was a busy gal getting a couple of projects completed.

I managed to finish Grumpy's hat to match his woven Thor scarf.  Of course, I have yet to get a photo of him modeling both.  Here is the hat though...100% handspun.
I also managed to sneak in a couple of projects for me.  First is a woven scarf I am calling Hard Candy Christmas.  This was from yarn I dyed two years ago.  I realized that I really didn't have any red in my handmade collection so now I have something for the holiday...or when I simply feel like being jolly.

I also knitting the Capucine.  This hat has been in my queue forever.  I spun the fawn art yarn last year around this time and intended on having my own Santa hat for last year.  That didn't happen but in a two day knitting marathon, I did whip this creation up for 2012.  Hooray!

I had hoped to share my year in review today but that will have to wait until this weekend when I can go through all of my photos.  So...have you planned your 2013 Fiber Arts goals yet?  Maybe it's just to blog more (I know I have slacked this year).  Regardless, enjoy the final weekend of 2012.  I look forward to reading your post in the new year to come. Now, share your adventures in Fiber Arts!

  4. Hey Andrea, that scarf is gorgeous! I'll bet it looks great on you too. I knit that hat but haven't added the tassels yet. I'm hoping it'll look better when I do. Some small child is going to enjoy it some day maybe. For some reason it came out too small for my head. I'll bet Grumpy's head will be nice and toasty in that neat at. Your projects look better every week. Happy New Year to you and yours.

  7. Grumpy's hat turned out great.

I love your scarf and your hat looks very cosy too.

I am loving the plaids you've been doing.

I have two very simple but very big fibery goals for 2013... skirt all of my fleece so it can go to the mill and refinish the basement floor so I can set up my loom.
