Welcome to Fiber Arts Friday! Join in the fun and share your adventures in Fiber Arts or live vicariously through us bloggers who share and link in each week. Today I am going to share the beginning of my Christmas gifts. On the first day of Christmas, I wove my true love a truly Awesome scarf.
He picked the yarn!
He said he wear it!
...and I'm happier than a partridge in a pear tree ;-)
I warped my Cricket loom last Sunday using singles that I had spun on my drop spindles over the Summer. The weft is in the three ply yarn that I spun on my Lendrum. It was a basic weave where I let the colors of the yarn do all of the work. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I still need to get a photo of Grumpy modeling it but for now, I shall share it on it's own. Of course, once I took the photos I realized that I should have ironed the fabric. Oops! I promise to do that before Grumpy models it.

I also have begun knitting ornaments from the Snowball Buddies Collection written by Susan Claudino. I have the mouse finished and have already cast on the bunny. Brother Bear insisted that I knit him the bunny ornament and I just can't deny that kind of a knitting request.
That's been my week in Fiber Arts. I'm getting ready for tomorrow's Buy Local show. It's my last show of the year and I always enjoy this venue. I do wish that we had some snow though. It just doesn't seem like Christmas without it.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by last week. I was having internet issues so I didn't make it to everyone's blogs. I'm hoping to get caught up this weekend. Now, share your adventures in Fiber Arts.

Aww, such a sweet mouse and so cute on your tree. Isn't it so nice when you make something for someone who wants it and will wear it? Makes the whole process worthwhile. Have a happy FAF!
ReplyDeleteYour weaving is truly amazing! How long did it take you to spin enough yarn on a spindle? That little mousey is cute, and good luck with your show!

A wool angel with pink hair, cheers Marie
ReplyDeleteAwesome scarf. I think I'd better warp up my loom this weekend. Maybe that's a good idea to complete the scarf I've promised for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteAgain, you make me wish I had a loom. One of these days! But then, how would I decide whether to knit or weave with my lovely yarns?
ReplyDeleteGrumpy's scarf is wonderful, he's a good color picker, you make a great team! I LOVE the little mouse, I saw it over on Ravelry, I con not wait to see the bunny!
