I'm still making progress on my newest weaving project using my newly inspired Saori weaving techniques but in a different colorway this time. I don't know about you, but this fabric screams "Sew me into a vest!"
These photos are of the fabric still on the loom so next week I'll share it off the loom in it's full yardage. I used shades of Yellow, Gray, Burgundy along with some colorful stripes in the Warp and added Black and some Greens along with the main colors for the weft. I purposely left floaters (Floaters are threads which “float” above a fabric’s surface for an unacceptably long distance; by doing so they
disturb the surface texture and create loops subject to snagging on sharp objects) to create additional texture to the garment. I am not leaving them long where snagging will occur like the definition says. I actually manipulated the threads every few inches or so or simply when I felt like it to create the design. I'm rather liking how it looks.
Finally, I am just about finished with the first of my Ghostie socks. Started well over a month ago and typically only knit at lunch, they have been slow moving. The toe is in progress and I skipped around and already knit the after-thought heel so hopefully by early next week the second sock will get started. I have a month before Halloween so it's all good ;-)
One last item. I am going to host a KAL in my Ravelry Group to make a beautiful cowl (pattern to be published next week) written by my friend Becky. We would like everyone in the KAL to use the My Pedro Yarn that I have been working so hard to dye and sell. For this KAL, I am going to offer 15% off of the My Pedro Yarn using coupon code: WonderKAL We are going to start the KAL beginning October 1 so check out my RAVELRY Group for more details.
